Zach Galifianakis
Zach Galifianakis
Date of Birth: October 1,1969, Wilkesboro, North Carolina

Birth Name:   Zacharius Knight Galifianakis

Height:    5' 8"
Born on Delta Films Day almost a decade before it was instituted Zach is the perfect addition to our spotlight. Quietly, unassumingly, Zach Galifianakis
walks onto the stage and begins to play his big black piano. Some young collegiate girl wonders aloud, ‘I thought this guy was a comedian.’ At this point, it
does seem Galifianakis is more a classical pianist than a comedian. Then he opens his big hairy mouth: “I was at TCBY the other day, and you might not
know this, but TCBY stands for ‘This Can’t Be Yogurt.’ So, I’ve always wanted to open a TCBY… and serve soup. So, when people come up to me at the
counter and go, ‘This can’t be yogurt.’ I’ll say, ‘I know, it’s soup.” Zach Galifianakis is a Hollywood, and comedy, abnormality. With his burly beard, he’d
look more appropriate chopping wood or dancing naked at the Burning Man Festival than behind a piano telling jokes. Or his talents might be better used
playing an Ewok in the next Star Wars. At any rate, he’s here, he’s on stage, he’s in movies, he’s had his own VH1 talk show, and he gives hope to those
who stumble over words and want to push comedy in different directions.

After failing his last college course by one point at North Carolina State University, Zach moved to New York City. His first stand-up gig was in the back of a
hamburger restaurant in Times Square. In order to pay the bills, he worked as a nanny and house cleaner while doing stand-up at night in clubs and coffee
houses in the city.

While working as a bus boy, he got his first acting job on a sitcom called "Boston Common" for NBC. He has since been seen on a number of late-night talk
shows including "Letterman," "Conan" and "Jimmy Kimmel." His films include "Heartbreakers," "Bubble Boy," "Below," "Corky Ramano," "Out Cold" and "The
Comedians of Comedy." He was also a series regular playing Davis on "Tru Calling" for Fox. He also hosted his own critically-acclaimed but short-lived talk
show for VH1 titled "Late World with Zach." But he became a household name and major box office draw for his Delta Award winning performance in last
years best comedy "Hangover"

He continues to travel the country doing stand-up in rock clubs, coffee houses and universities.

Galifianakis lives in Venice Beach, California and also lives part-time on his farm in the mountains of North Carolina.
