Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson
Date of Birth: November 22, 1984, New York City, New York

Birth Name: Scarlett Ingrid Johansson

Height: 5' 4¼"
Not that we haven't spotlighted her enough already being a three time number one on the Delta 99. Scarlett burst into public prominence as a young
teenage actress, first being noticed in the indie classic Welcome to the Dollhouse. Since then she's made over 20 films, likely being one of the few actors in
history with as many films as her age, being born in 1984, so she's still only in her 20's. Her most acclaimed and demanding part was as the friend of Bill
Murray in Lost in Translation, when both were temporarily American fish out of water in Japan. If anyone is going to be the new Marilyn, I nominate Scarlett,
who has better acting skills and is just as beautiful, resembling the fabulous glamour queens of the silver screen. Currently a Woody Allen favorite, she's
appeared in his films Match Point and Vicky Christina Barcelona. Somehow, she manages to have both the "girl next door" and the classic voluptuous film
siren qualities, which make her one of the most popular and alluring modern actresses.

My first introduction to Scarlett Johansson was in Sofia Coppola's love-it-or-hate-it Lost in Translation, a quiet film exploring how lonely it can be even when
you're surrounded, among other things. It's a beautiful film that showcased her acting talents, where she put forth a daring vulnerability. From there she went
on to Woody Allen's much-lauded Match Point, but also stopped to voice Mindy in Spongebob Squarepants. She even looks good when not primped for the
camera, in flats. She took an unfortunate turn and starred in The Island, where Michael Bay committed the unforgivable crime of forbidding her from having a
nude scene she wanted to do. She had a smaller role in The Prestige and has bounced between stinkers like The Black Dahlia and more Woody Allen films.
She also starred across from Colin Firth in Girl with a Pearl Earring.

She's also spend a lot of time in front of the photographer's camera. She's played in the Iron Man sequel, and maybe that will be her penance for appearing
in Frank Miller's muckup of The Spirit. She's more than a pretty face, but like Uma Thurman, hasn't always chosen the best roles. Maybe she'll get her Kill Bill
sometime soon. Scarlett is an actress who should have appeared naked by now. But until that glorious day, we'll keep following her varied and hot career.

Johansson has climbed to the top ranks of Hollywood actresses, all on the backs of an impressive resume of films. One of Johansson's earlier roles was in
The Coen Brothers' 2001 neo-noir The Man Who Wasn't There. That same year, Johansson starred in the adaptation of the popular inde comic book series
Ghost World, directed by filmmaker Terry Zwigoff.
