We took an 8 hour bus tour into the heart of Denali National Park & Preserve. There was a moose standing directly in the road. It walked off into the woods
as the bus approached. Spied another Moose cow and her calf was crossing a mostly dry riverbed. Two more adult females immediately followed.
There are monitors on the bus, when we spy any wildlife the driver stops and uses a video camera to zoom in and show us. Large wildlife seems
very sparse in Denali. You can drive for many miles without seeing anything but Hares. There seem an abundance of these bunnies everywhere
along the road and in the woods.
We came across a single caribou grazing in a field – There are some better caribou pix much later in our trip
There was a beautiful red fox mama and her cubs on the road - It was hard to get decent pics cuz they kept moving around. You'd line up a perfect shot
and as soon as you push the shutter they'd move out of the frame.
