Alaska, The Great Land Into the Wild - My great Alaskan Railroad Adventure

These houses were sunken into the ground are the result of the 1964 Good Friday earthquake. The quake shook so violently that it liquefied the ground under these houses and they sunk into the earth. These structures were left as they fell and now can be seen sticking half out of the ground.
We passed another AK RR train coming from Whittier
Once we arrived we visited the Alaska Sea Life Center in Seward. Hey - I'm smiling but I'm wearing my Grumpy sweatshirt
Among the myriad of native Alaskan sea creatures we saw a playful otter, A very big sea lion named Woody, a close relative of the penguin, the common murre (lower left) and Puffins (lower right). You can see how close I was able to get to these sea birds. They were not afraid of us at all. I guess they're used to human visitors. Although visiting aquariums is enjoyable nothing can compare with seeing the native wild life in their natural setting out in the wild.
