"Thar she blows!" Saw a Minke whale but didn't manage to get a picture of it. They are very shy elusive creatures and don't stick around long.
We saw several humpback whales, small family pod - male, female and juvenile.

The first couple humpbacks we saw were sleeping, they just sort of lazily bobbed in the water, the small family was more active. I kept hoping they'd
breach but we were never so lucky. Even though they often presented their tails to us as they dove below the waves I never managed to get a picture
of it. I never pressed the shutter at quite the right time. The last pic is the closest I got . Below is a short video of the Humpback family as they swam.

Some playful Dall Porpoise race our boat. They seem excited to have us to play with. They are faster and much more agile than our big lumbering ship.
Dall porpoise are related to the Orca (Killer Whales) and have the same coloring.
I wish I had thought to take some video of them.
Living in New England I am exposed to the ocean very frequently, I often forget
that most of the rest of the United States is land locked and rarely gets to see
the vast beauty of the open sea. Even though I've lived in Maine and
Massachusetts my whole life I had never gone on a whale watch cruise. This
was my first time seeing these magnificent mammals in person.
