Here is where we stayed at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. We managed to sleep in for the first time all vacation. We don't catch the train ‘til 11:30 so we had
plenty of time. After a leisurely breakfast we rested in the room and watched TV until it was time to head for the station. It's nice not to be rushed for once.
Looks like Mt McKinley might be visible through the haze. I’m Gonna try to get a picture before we leave.  Nope – It’s still socked in.

My dad waits at the Talkeetna station. It's just a tiny little place (Both Talkeetna and the railroad station - the hotel is HUGE though)
Here comes our train – it’s maybe 20 minutes late but that’s ok.
Off to Denali
I'm smiling because I finally got a good nights sleep and we weren't hurried.
Sleeping patterns definitely get disturbed up here. We go to bed at midnight and the sun is
still up and shining away. Get up at 4:30 AM and there's the sun. I never saw darkness the
whole time I was in Alaska. I'm told the sun does go down few a few hours every night but I
don't know what time you need to be up to see darkness around here (I never did.)
